A Validation Study of the Korean-Version of the Emotional Dysregulation Scale

|
The purpose of this study was to standardize the Korean version of emotional dysregulation scale (EDS-K). 89 adult ADHD patients diagnosed at psychiatric outpatient department and age, sex and education matched 89 general populations attended the study. With these targets, we compared three emotional dysregulation subscales such as ASRS, BDI and BAI of WRAADDS. Whole reliability coefficient, Cronbach``s alpha, showed a high degree of internal consistency to 0.907. Between the total scores of EDS-K and ASRS showed a high correlation. Especially ASRS part B that includes items such as restlessness or impatience, inability to loosen the tension and feel comfortable, and impulsivity showed a high correlation. EDS-K is a scale with high reliability and validity, and may be a useful tool in assessing the emotional control disorders of ADHD patients in Korean adults.
